  • YouTube has been offering some serious revenues for people producing quality and original videos up until now and now it expands the offer into the world of mobile. After monetizing traffic on PCs, now we see TrueView in stream video ads on mobile devices. It’s a logical step, since people are watching videos on smartphones and tablets more and more lately.

In the case of TrueView video ads, YouTube  developed a model where user engagement matters, so people can skip ads that they’re not interested in after just 5 seconds. You’ve heard of that before, since it’s something common on the standard YouTube. Viewers’ control over ads gives a more engaged viewing experience and it’s for the common benefit of the entire YouTube community, including users, partners and advertisers. TrueView in stream ads will bring equal if not higher revenue compared to standard video ads.

Considering that now the TrueView ads are the majority of video ads on YouTube, this tech appeals to a broad base of advertisers. There are no changes to be made to your settings or account to get the new ads on mobile, so if you opted for TrueView ads on your standard videos, mobile device traffic will get the same version.
