  • A few weeks after the app’s release on iOS, Yahoo Mail comes to Android, with an updated UI and many more extra features. You can download the new version here and you should know that it’s only available in the US for now.

Just like Yahoo’s main homepage in the browser, it offers you news, search, weather, sports, Flickr photos and videos. You’ve got a top bar with icons for Mail, All Stories and Today. The second tab features a personalized and visually rich news stream, showing everything that’s going on in the world, from celebrity news to politics. The third tab is all about sports scores, news headlines and popular pics on Flickr.

The same tab shows the local weather. Yahoo also claims they included a few features unique to Android, although they didn’t mention exactly which ones. They only said that you can swipe left or right to move between the 3 tabs. As usual bug fixes are included.
