  • Xbox SmartGlass has been a topic of discussions for a while now, mostly associated with Windows 8 and the Xbox console, but now it’s reaching Android. SmartGlass for Android is available for free download on the Play Store and if you own an Xbox 360 you may want to download this app and integrate your console in your daily experience.

Microsoft has been trying for a while to make the Xbox an entertainment hub and the Xbox Smartglass is part of that idea. The app is compatible with a lot of Android devices and offers a rich and interactive experience. The concept goes like this: you can navigate your Xbox 360 from your handset with a simple swipe or tap and you can use your device’s keyboard to type on your console, send messages to a gamer friend and more. Aside from navigating, typing and browsing, the smartphone can also be used as a remote for 360, allowing you to play, pause and stp videos and music.

You can also look for new games, music and video using your Android device, compare achievements with your buddies and all of that on Android 4.0+ devices with WVGA or higher screen resolution. You need an Xbox membership to use the app and other available features include changing your 3D avatar, editing your profile, browsing the web on the Xbox, getting extra content and interactive media associated to movies and games. The app is up for download here.
