  • Microsoft’s Smartglass Android application has just received an update, that adds support for 7 inch tablets to it. This Xbox 360 second screen application was received with open arms, but also with somewhat of a limited joy by tablet users, since its official support was for the smartphone family only.

There was some sideloading procedure to perform in order to get the app running on other devices. Luckily, the latest update makes the app available on the 7 inch tablets. Other improvements include usual bug fixes, enhancements regarding the settings and achievements, but other than that nothing truly new. So, get out your Nexus 7 and start downloading, as the app is available over here.

For those of you who don’t know, the app requires Android 4.0 and up, takes up 16 MB of space and it’s avaialble for free. It allows you to make your device a secondary screen for the Xbox 360 and brings in rich and interactive content. For example if you’re playing an NFL title on the Xbox, you can get a special playbook of various team arrangements on your tablet or phone. If you’re watching a movie you can see a Game of Thrones map or character background stories on your device and so on.
