  • Few games based on cinema releases have come to be considered a success. We mostly expect this titles from a certain developer so it’s nice to see an adventurous programmer release a game based on a blockbuster movie such as Total Recall. Does the title for the mobile platform live up to expectations?

Total Recall – The Game – Ep1 is an action packed adventure, with some elements from the cinema release. The game is made for fun and does not actually follow the story of the movie. You control the main character through the software analog stick and use the two buttons for jumping and action. The problem is the analog stick foes not respond as it should causing frustration and mistakes that will cost you a life out of the three available. You will need to discover secrets, kill enemies and bosses and accomplish missions as you journey through Mars.

The graphics are good but the sound lacks in certain areas. Overall the title does not give the impression of a finished product. The gameplay is lots of fun and fans of the original movie will find it very attractive. You will encounter huge environments, unfortunately you can only move forward and not sideways. I just the controls weren’t so sluggish. Let’s hope future updates will make it even more enjoyable.

Total Recall – The Game – Ep1 can be purchased for a decent price from the Play Store.
