  • Made by AppBaan, the app SwatchMatic is a point and shoot color palette maker that uses robots in its UI. The software was updated on September 13th and it requires Android 2.2 and up to work. The app takes up merely 417 kb of storage and allows you to manage and handle colors for your logos, kitchen, dress or whatever.

All you need to do is point the camera on your handset at a color that you like and the app will tell you the name of the color and all the values you need to recreate it. There are also 5 other colors shown that will match it nicely, so you can complement the nuance. SwatchMatic allows you to find matching colours, like those that complement each other, analogs, triads and more. Colors can also be tweaked with the aid of user-friendly sliders. Once you’ve reached the desired nuance you can share the palette as an image with funny robots dressed up in colors.

You will be able to use the color in Illustrator or Photoshop for example and share them with printing services, paint suppliers and more. The latest September updates brought crash fixes, back button standardization, an option from the gallery activity, that allows you to export a selected palette to the device’s gallery. The app is up for download here.
