  • There is no doubt that we would like to have extra functionality in some apps that come pre-installed with the Android OS. Most of them are pretty basic. We rely on finding good alternatives on the Play Store to offer the missing functions.

Holo Clock is a good initiative from a resourceful developer to integrate some very useful functions into one app. The beautiful designed interface makes it very easy to get around and integrates perfectly into Android 4.x. The app offers three functions: Timer, StopWatch and Alarm. Each function is designed to include extensive features. Even more then a great deal of separate app on the Store have to offer.

The Alarm function in Holo Clock, compared to the standard Android version, offers the possibility to increase the ringtone volume depending on a chosen duration, set the snooze duration and LED notifications. Other then that you still get the ability to name the alarm, set it to repeat and choose the ringtone. With the Timer and StopWatch functions the list of options is more extensive:

    • Show a notification of how long is left in the notification bar
    • Play a ringtone until the timer is cleared, or just once
    • Vibrate until the timer is cleared, or for a set time
    • Use custom ringtones
    • Obey your phones silent mode
    • Quickly set-up predefined times
    • Quickly access recently used times
    • See time left on the status bar, without even opening the notification drawer
    • Set Alarm Volume
    • LED Notifications with color picker

    • Ringing or vibrating after every minute (adjustable)
    • Keeping track of laps
    • Setting a timer equals to the length of the lap
    • Setting a timer equal to the total time

There is a Demo version for Holo Clock available on the Store. It offers limited functionality for the different functions. You can buy the complete version for a very good price.
