  • I’ve seen this feature before, on Songify, but now we have a new app that turns normal speech to rapping music. I’m talking about the Autorap application, available for free on Google Play Store. The app requires Android 2.3 and up and takes up 25 MB of your space. It’s created by Smule and detailed below.

AutoRap uses Smule’s proprietary “rappification” technology, that maps the syllables of your speech to any beat and creates unique rap tunes. You just need to speak into your handset and the app will adapt the voice to autotuned rapping. You can create an original rap song with Freestyle Beats or use Premium Songs from artists such as Snoop Dogg or Nicky Minaj. There’s also a Rap Mode, that allows you to rap along famous tunes and follow the lyrics that scroll on the screen.

AutoRap corrects your flow and snaps the syllables to the rhythm grid on the underlying beat. Among the artists included here we find BOB, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Dr. Dre, Tupac, Outkast, Nelly, Beastie Boys and Kelis. You can also share your songs via Facebook and Twitter. The app is up for download here.
