  • There’s an abundance of Walking Dead games out there and even more of them are coming in the future. Walking Dead Road to Survival is one of the new ones, being launched a few months ago and we tested it on the Galaxy Note 5. This title is available for free in the Play Store.

It’s both a base builder and turn based battle title, that features a party of heroes, each with special abilities and weapons. Enemies come in waves and they provide quite a bit of loot when they’re gone. Unlike many other Walking Dead titles, this one also has you fighting human opponents, like scavengers or looters of all sorts.

Status ailments, berserks and panics can happen within the group and in between battles, comic book-like dialog lines will be delivered, telling the bulk of the story of the Governor for example. You’ll go to Woodbury, try to fortify a community, train people and upgrade houses. There are two energy meters here: gas for battles and green stuff for online battles.

Object crafting is available and you need to get food and wood as the main resources to keep your community thriving. Graphics are pretty OK and there’s a ton of stuff to do here, so you’ll never get bored. Rick, Michonne and the Governor are all part of the story and in app purchases are also present, ranging from $3.85 to $136.

You can make tough choices, like sparing or killing a person you come across in your raids and that will come back haunt or help you later on. Resources get stolen while you’re offline and you can also attack real gamers and loot them. We had a blast with this title and we give it an 8.7 out of 10. You can get it here.
