  • The Android devices line-up has been enriched with the addition of more and more devices for home utilities and more. We’ve seen USB dongles, TV’s and even refrigerators running the Google OS connected to the Internet to provide a wide angle of possibilities.

The versatility of the Android OS has been further exploited by VIA with the addition of the APC Paper PC at a very low price-point. For as low as $99 VIA offers a Cortex A9 based architecture with the addition of its newest version of the APC mainboard. The components are packed in a layer of recycled cardboard folding in a book-like design.

The APC Paper PC offers a HDMI port for connectivity and is powered by a Cortex A9 WonderMedia chip clocked at 800MHz, with 512MB of DDR3 RAM, 4GB of internal storage, and two USB 2.0 ports. There is also a microUSB OTG option, 10/100 Ethernet, and audio in/out ports. APC Paper PC will be running a custom version of Android Ice Cream Sandwich and is able to connect to your PC monitor or TV. It will be available starting March with the manufacturer’s documentation already available on the official website. The VIA APC Rock will be available for as low as $79.
