  • We used the Acer Iconia Tab A510 Olympic Edition tablet that we tested a while ago to test an app called Twitdroyd. This is a Twitter client, with an interface that’s familiar for people using such apps. This client includes main options such as Profile, Channels, Retweets, Search, Favourite, Messages and Nearby tweets.

This app is rather intended for handsets, not tablets, as shown by the design, even when we tested it on the tablet. We like an option from the app, that allows you to search for the name of a person in order to access their Twitter profile. The app supports managing more Twitter accounts and it comes with notification options, that will appear in the right lower side of the screen and be signaled by a vibration or a sound of the handset.

LivePreview is the most interesting aspect of Twidroyd and this is basically a way to view tweets in landscape mode, with the link from each tweet becoming a full article in the right side of the screen, complete with large picture. This reminds me of a Twitter app for Windows RT, that behaved in the same way. The app gets an 8 out of 10 from us and can be downloaded from here.
