  • Tumblr, Inc. has brought their  microblogging platform and social networking website to life since 2007 and by 2013 the website has registered over 100 million blogs. One of the main concern of the developers behind the project was to offer great mobile apps for smartphones and tablets and so far the official versions are available for iOS, Android and Blackberry.

Since Google decided to launch Android 4.0 ICS that offered a whole new interface, it has become possible for Android developers to use the tools available and create great new UI for their apps for increased functionality. 1 and a half year later  and about 2 Android versions and the most popular apps on the Play Store offer the new design changes, along with unique elements that make the experience one most enjoying.

Tumblr has joined the line of great apps that offer unique aspects in terms of functionality and design. It includes features of the holo – Android design with added characteristic elements that make it stand out from the rest. The most appealing aspect of it is the new post animations, that pop-out in a row, as you can see from the images above. There is also a small boost in speed for the new version of the app, available on the Play Store.
