  • File transfer utilities have grown to a very large number on the Play Store, though I can honestly state that a great deal of these solutions don’t work as advertised. This is mainly due to each devices components, ranging from WiFi Direct to NFC and even the new Bluetooth 4.0 standard, through different components.

WiFi File Transfer by developer smarterDroid is meant to be the simplest and most efficient manner to transfer files using a WiFi connection between Android and PC. Without having to connect a USB cable, which is the general method for copying files to and from PC, it becomes much simpler to just open and start the File Transfer app on your device.

Managing files using WiFi File Transfer is done through a very well built browser interface. From there you can upload and download files, either one by one or multiple files at once. The interface also allows for handling .zip archives, renaming, copying, deleting and other such file operations. It is also optimized for handling media files, such as photos or videos and can be locked with a password.

WiFi File Transfer is available in both a free and Pro version.
