  • Total Commander is a cool little Android app from C. Ghisler that’s actually one of the most powerful file managers for Android. Back in September the app received a major 2.0 update that brought some interesting features and now it evolves even further.

Previously the app was available for audio and video playback, internet streaming and also offered support for updated plugins. Now, in version 2.01, you get drag and drop, streaming media player (needs plugin update) and better root support. For those of you not familiar with Total Commander, the app is available for free, takes up less than 1 MB and offers 2 panes, that you can switch between using a big button with 3 arrows. You can easily copy/move/rename or delete folders, sort files and directories and handle the APKs.

You can zip and unzip archives, there’s a built in text editor, properties dialog and the option to change permissions. Finally, there’s even a FTP client in the mix, LAN access via plugin and sending files via Bluetooth. The app is up for download here, with a ton of languages supported.
