  • May is here and we’re counting down the days till Google I/O 2013 starts and brings us a new Android release and maybe a bunch of new Nexus devices. Till then we have a nifty top 5 of early May Android game releases, some price reductions and other goodies. Keep on reading to find out what happened to the price of NFS Most Wanted.

    5) NFS Most Wanted on sale

NFS Most Wanted was the coolest racing game I played last year, on both mobile and console, so you can imagine my joy when the title was made available for just 99 cents on the Play Store. It happened just days ago, probably to counter the madness with the App Store receiving special bonuses, promotions and prizes with the occasion of it reaching 50 billion apps. Most Wanted comes from EA and allows you to drive Lambos, trucks, BMWs and many other cool cars, with a great speed sensation and a very good control system.

The cheap app is available over here, so enjoy it.

    4) Shiny the Firefly

Shiny the Firefly is a game that may remind you of Pixar movies, with its cute graphics and characters. It costs $2 and takes up a bit over 140 MB of storage. The title is a puzzle one, with a huge number of critters to run into, like centipedes, mosquitoes, plants and wasps. The graphics are colored, the main character is cute and fuzzy and children and adults will love this game. There are 33 levels to have fun with. There are even bosses included and a feature that allows you to turn the Light on and off. Flowers and water look crisp and graphics are quite hot.

    Get the game from here.

    3) Repulze on sale

Repulze is one of the funniest game I’ve played in 2013, a sort of Wipeout twin brother with hovercrafts racing in futuristic settings. Well, the title has been discounted and now it’s available for merely 99 cents. Pixelbite is the developer of the game and we reviewed it on the LG Optimus G, by the way. There are 7 choices of hovercraft and about a dozen of tracks to play on. You can shatter your enemies by blasting them with plasma guns, lasers, rockets or simply power ripping through them.

You can download the game from here.

    2) House of the Dead Overkill the Lost Reel

If you’re into horror games and want to play such a title on Android, then you may want to give the game House of the Dead Overkill The Lost Reel a try. I know it’s a long title, but the game is actually pretty good. The title comes from Sega of America and provides two gaming modes: Survival and Story, both of them pretty self explanatory. You get to kill waves of zombies and other critters, even including prostitutes. We’re dealing with an arcade shooter here and you can use the accelerometer, virtual pad and frenzy tap to control the attacks. You can also upgrade your pistol, combos and more.

The game is up for download here.

    1) Angry Birds Friends

Although Rovio recently teased a new release of Angry Birds Seasons, they actually graced us with Angry Birds Friends, a title that puts a focus on social networking in the world of Angry Birds. The app is connected to Facebook and allows you to compete in weekly challenges with your FB contacts. About half a dozen new levels will be published each week and you’ll have to get the highest scores to see your name in the leaderboards and get some rewards. You can use powerups such as a huge bird with a helmet, an extra precise slingshot and a powerup that speeds up your bird. There’s also the ability to quake the pigs and tear them down that way.

You can get Friends from here.

We’re almost ready for the summer, the time when the big games come and also the time when we’ll see a bunch more Android devices launched. We’re due another Asphalt, maybe another NFS, certainly a new FIFA title and who knows what else. Glu Mobile has been quiet for a very long while and we’re anxiously waiting for Google to reveal its gaming service.
