  • It’s been a week clearly placed under the reign of Halloween and the debut of Android 4.2, through an official Google announcement. That didn’t stop cool new games and apps from appearing, some of them titles we’ve been waiting for a long while now. We’ve got a nifty Adsense app, a new Need for Speed game and a new Zombie title or two. Let’s see which are the 5 games and apps that really left their mark over the past days.

    5) 2XL SupercroSS HD

If you’re into dirt bikes and offroad two wheel action, you’ll adore the 2XL Supercross HD title, going for $5. The creation of 2XL Games, this new game has a great physics engine and offers jump combos and a very nice rhythm. You can perform crazy stunts on custom tracks designed by Stephane Roncada, a motocross champion who did a fine job. You get surround sound, 3D physics in the game and real life engine recordings. To that we add projected shadows, high end lightning and particle effects. 8 bikes and riders are available, for your choice.

You can download the game from here.

    4) Contract Killer 2

Glu Mobile strikes again with a follow-up to a very nice title, a sort of fixed gun FPS, where you get to move a bit between covers: Contract Killer 2. Jack Griffin, the main character here is a contract killer who has to take on multiple targets using the weapons he has available. The game is available for free and offers you the option of using scopes and silencers for stealthier kills. This is not just mindless assassination, since you actually get a background story here. Close range melee attacks are also available, for some reason… and even third person attacks, to make things interesting. The most tough missions are those that require you to survive ambushes or defuse hidden bombs.

The title is up for download here.

    3) Adsense Reports Free

There’s also an app included in our top 5 this week, a piece of software that’s well worth the mention. Those of you using a Google Adsense and Analytics account will be happy to know that they can check their revenue/income on Google’s ad network using this simple app, that takes up less than 2 MB of storage. You get the estimated earnings, custom channel reports, CTR, CPC, RPM and the other stats that you need to have a good idea of what your revenues were for the past month. An optional Google Analytics account integration is available. Lots of graphs and detailed analytics are available in this intuitive and free application.

You can download it from here.

    2) Zombie Driver THD

Those of you lucky enough to own Tegra-based devices with Android can now play a new title called Zombie Driver THD. The game goes for $6.99 and has you killing multiple waves of zombies, as you clean up cities using your vehicles packed with weapons. It kind of reminds me of the older style of GTA games and the gameplay is very fast paced. The car goes in turbo mode, starts firing and zombies start dying… it’s that easy! Streets are infected and in order to clean them you’ll even resort to a fire truck or even a tank. Aside from the main single player mode there’s also a Blood Race and a Slaughter mode. Blood race is simply a way to race and take out the other vehicles, while slaughter is all about fighting in the arena and surviving.

    The game is up here.

    1) NFS Most Wanted

The most wanted title of the week is… Need for Speed Most Wanted. It finally arrived on October 30th, after quite some time of waiting. Priced at around $7, this game offers you a kickass driving experience, with damage included, cops chasing you, spikes on the road and police road blocks. There are a lot of cool cars to have fun with, like Lamborghini Aventador, even a Hummer, Porsche 911 Carrera S and a SRT Viper GTS. Over 35 cars are available and 10 tracks that are available in night and day mode and in reverse. You can control cars through tilting or touching the screen and you’ll trigger nitrous by swiping up on the screen. The graphics are amazing and this title even blows Asphalt 7 away.

Probably the best racing game on mobile this year is available here.

So, here’s the first days of November going by and we’re getting ready to learn more about Android 4.2, see new games launched, maybe something cool from Gameloft and maybe that Facebook update they promised for Android. I also look forward to see more antiviruses and maybe some strategy games, since those have been lacking lately…
