  • June is here and this month is crucial for Windows and iOS lovers. We’ve got WWDc and BUILD 2013 this month, but also some Android love at Computex, where new tablets and phablets will be unveiled. Till then we have a look at the last 7 days and the scoops we had, plus the apps were launched. There are social apps, there’s a game review and a nifty specifications check app.

    5) Quick Social

Quick Social is an app used to publish statuses on the web fast and efficiently. Lupine development created an app called Quick Social, that allows you to access the notification drawer, type your status and that’s it. The solution works with Facebook, Twitter and Google+ and can be launched on boot. There’s a transparent status icon, so you won’t even know the app is there. The free version is supported by ads, but there’s also a paid version for about 99 cents.

    4) Abraca Bacon Review

Abraca Bacon is one of the most refreshing Angry Birds Seasons releases, that brings us a circus environment and portal mechanisms, that are very original and interesting. The game was made available in mid May and it comes with 30 main levels and 6 bonus levels. You will fire your birds through a red or blue portal and it will come out on the other side flying and blowing stuff up. Pigs are dressed up as clowns, juggling pins are everywhere and levels are larger than usual, with more space to throw stuff through portals.

    3) OverView

Most of us use more than one social network and since most of us are connected via TWitter, Facebook, Google+ and who knows what else, you’ll probably need an app to unify all of those under one roof. Developer Mario Ostwald has created the Social Network OverView, that has reached version 3.0 and offers a great social networking experience. It allows you to access Google+, Facebook, Twitter and more from a very comfy UI. The app also comes with RSS Support, it has a 3D cover flow and it doesn’t even require registration for showing certain feeds.

    2) RDP Windows Remote Desktop

Remote desktop apps interest us a lot, since we tend to spend a lot of time on mobile/tablets and ignore the desktop PC or laptop. That’s why a remote desktop solution is crucial on Android. Developer K Fost has launched the RDP Windows Remote Desktop and implemented some nifty options. The UI is intuitive and the app is excellent for both the noob user and the experienced one. We’ve got a touch pointer for mice, 128 bit encryption, seamless Windows, terminal service gateway and 32 bit color support.

    The app is available here.

    1) Speccheck

If you like to compare your handsets with your friends, well there’s an app for that right now. Developer QuantumFoam answers all the questions you have on your device and others with an app called SpecCheck. The app is available for free and it informs you about the hardware of your device. CPU, RAM, components of all sorts and comparisons with all the Nexus units and HTCs you can image will be performed using this application. There’s also offline viewing and this app takes up 1.2 MB of space.

In just a dozen or two of hours Computex 2013 will start and with it we’ll see some cool ASUS and Acer devices, especially tablets. We may even end up seeing a phablet from ASUS, as rumored, maybe one from HTC, since the event takes place in its homeland. Nvidia Shield is already on sale, so yet another interesting device is out there. Which one of them interests you the most?
