  • Frankly speaking, I don’t get why there’s more than one task list application out there, seeing how they all basically do the same thing. Anyway, this week Todoist got updated with location-based reminders on Android.

Two weeks after the company behind the software announced they were going to release an update for location-based reminders, they proceeded to do that. The productivity app Todoist now offers location trigger reminders for its task list. The new feature allows one to use their location to trigger alarms for items in the task list, instead of a specific time. This means that instead of having an alarm go off at 7 PM in order to remind you to buy something, the reminder can activate once you get outside the office.

Todoist has Google Maps integration and it’s able to detect your most frequented locations, also giving you those options when you’re setting up reminders by location. There’s obviously the option to manually enter a place by finding it on Google Maps and then adding it to a favourites list. Keep in mind that the cooler features are only available for Premium users, who pay $28.99 per year.

But the basic version of app is free and you can get it here.
