  • While Siri was becoming the Word’s first fully working voice activated virtual assistant, Google had their own plans and by integrating their powerful search service they managed to create something that wasn’t thought possible. That is until this new service came along that threatens both Siri and Google Now.

Maluuba is a whole new voice activated service that is more powerful then Siri and Google Now put together. Maluuba can do jut about anything, from setting your calendar appointments to finding places where you can eat. You can even use it to play music and there is a built-in interface to show the album cover and playback controls. From movies to directions, it’s all there, nothing is missing. The app uses a Metro style interface with some modifications that looks extremely well. From the main screen you swipe right to see about managing your day or left to explore.

Maluuba also offeres social integration. You can post on Facebook, tweet or check in on Foursquare. It all built right into the app. Of course you can get basic info such as the time or weather, but you can also get an events list, depending on your current location, and conveniently add them to your schedule. The voice recognition works very well and after testing it for a few hours I can say I’m impressed. Only problem is some features are available only for certain countries (Edit: Only North America) and there are no setting for displaying the weather in Celsius (Edit: As the developer states, taping on the weather will change it to Celsius).

You can download Maluuba either from the Play Store or, if it’s not available in your country, we’ve placed the APK for you here. Enjoy!
