  • The Walking Dead: Assault is yet another title related to the famous TV show, but this time it keeps the original cast of the show. Also, the genre is changed to top down strategy game and in case you’re wondering, the title is priced at $1.5.

The title features famous characters like Rick, Shane, Andrea, Michone and all the other cast members of the show. It’s published by Skybound, the original makers of the Walking Dead comics, so the authentic content is guaranteed. The controls are fairly easy to master: double tap to move a character, or keep the screen pressed to move the entire group in a certain direction.

Zombies will be drawn to loud noises like car alarms, so beware… Sometimes you may trigger those in order to lure them into a direction and save some guys or collect supplies. Each character has a main weapon, like a gun, shotgun or sniper and a secondary weapon, such as the axe, knife and all that. There are also special abilities, like sneaking behind zombies without getting caught, attracting the walkers towards you or speeding up the group.

You can get money from missions and buy new characters, upgrades and extras. The game allows you to pinch to zoom in order to see the action closer or rotate the camera to get a better view of the incoming zombies. Attack is automatic in this game, so all you can do is position characters and select what weapons to use.

There’s a nice music and creepy atmosphere here, plus comic book style graphics, so Walking Dead fans will be pleased. The game gets a 9.3 out of 10 from us and you can download it from here.
