  • You’re probably aware of the fact that I didn’t like the game Amazing Alex from Rovio, but I’m a huge Angry Birds fan. Now Rovio is delivering another turkey, through the game The Croods. This time we’re dealing with a game that’s a movie tie-in, since it’s related to the film The Croods by Dreamworks, who also helped with the game.

The Croods is a freemium game and it takes up 27 MB of space. We’ve got a family of cavemen, who are setting up a nice farm and generating a Farmville-style experience for you. The idea is to hunt and gather, or at least that’s what the game promises on paper, while in real life you hunt, capture, tame and build animal shelters.

You can trap and tame up to 10 creatures and create wacky inventions, or better said the character Grug can. There’s in app purchases here, since the resources are rather scarce, especially the jewels. We’ve got funny dialog in the game, I’ll give you that much, but this is where the fun ends. The Croods is basically a series of screen taps, as you wait for your animals to generate resources and build new shelters for them. This is where it starts and this is where it ends. I give the game a 6.5 out of 10 and you can get it from here.
