  • The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has got to be one of the most talked about games on the Play Store right now, because either you like or you have it. The title lets you play as Spidey in the new reboot that’s in cinemas right now. The game is priced at 5 dollars, comes from Gameloft and I tested it on the Samsung Galaxy S5.

The title was launched in mid April and takes up 1.2 GB of storage. It offers an open world environment, sort of like a GTA Spiderman, where you will be able to sling on your web as much as you like. Electro will be chasing you and there will be a very nice first boss battle to fight, plus a ton of side missions to perform. You also get regular planned events, that are part of the core storyline.

The battles are usually triggered in sequences and involve combos, just like in the Batman games. The sad thing is that you don’t actually feel like you’re fighting, but rather mashing virtual buttons as fast as you can. New York has been rendered perfectly here and the graphics are stunning. The reflection on skyscrapers, the trees and the water, everything is just crisp.

Sadly, the game tends to lag sometimes out the blue, even on high end devices. You will fight Electro, Russian mobsters, Ozcorp’s inventions and more. There are time limit missions, missions that require you to carry people on the back to the hospital and even car chases. The game offers a huge map and it can only be played with the Internet connection on for some reason.

There’s also Mysterio’s Arena, that lets you face waves of enemies and get your name in the leaderboard for prizes. There’s a shop in the game, with all sorts of pick me up potions and we’ve got a skill tree for Spidey, filled with abilities to unlock. We give this game a 9.2 out of 10 and you can download it here.
