Subway Surfers Review: Entertaining Temple Run Clone (Video)
Here’s yet another Temple Run clone, one that’s more hip and urban, called Subway Surfers. We reviewed the game on the Evolio Aria tablet and found the title made by Killo Games to be quite entertaining. It requires Android 2.2 to work and 22 MB of storage space. The aim of the game is to run around, being chased by the police and collecting coins.
The main character is a graffiti artist, who runs on train tracks and jumps from one train car to the other. You can also play with other characters like Jake, Tricky and Fresh, all of them cool graffiti artists. The graphics are colorful and the game gets very fast paced as the time passes. The thing is that you can’t actually change environment and once you’re caught or hit an obstacle, you have to start fresh. There are also pickups like a magnet to collect more coins and a jetpack, that allows you to fly above trains.
You will also use a sort of surfboard to move around at some point, as shown in our video review. The controls are pretty intuitive with a left and right swipe to change lanes and up to jump, plus down to tuck and roll. You can buy a hoverboard, a head start or a mystery box that will give you a random bonus. Overall the game is very entertaining and fast paced, so that’s why we give a 9 out of 10.
