  • E3 2012 brought us not only new God of War gameplay trailers, but also some mobile devices and accessories, like Nyko’s mobile gaming controller. SteelSeries now brings another new controller out there, the SteelSeries Free Mobile Wireless Controller, shown in tandem with a tablet in the video below.

It offers a layout similar to the one of the PlayStation controller, but it gives up on the shoulder buttons, making the device more compact. It offers up to 20 hours of casual gaming thanks to its battery and you can still play while it’s charging. The controller has a power save feature, that shuts it down after being idle for 3 minutes. The device also works as an universal remote for Android, iOS devices, as well as PCs, Macs and more. They only require Bluetooth support to connect to the controller.

There’s also a SteelSeries Engine app, used to configure the controller to the user’s needs, with a mobile version for Android users incoming. For now we see the device paired with an iPad in the video below and the controller looks very small and light.
