  • SteelSeries is a computer accessory maker, that has just revealed some fresh Bluetooth controllers for Android and iOS. Those are gaming controllers that were in fact announced last month, but detailed in full only now. The Free Mobile Wireless Controller goes for $79.99, a bit steep if you ask me, since for this price you can get two Aakash tablets in India.

Anyway, the controller is actually top notch, being the classic battery powered joystick you already imagine, with a D Pad on the left side and four actions buttons on the right. The controller also features a bunch of mini analog sticks in the center and a pair of shoulder buttons. The latter remind me more of the Xbox shoulder buttons, not the PS3 ones. The power is supplied by a rechargeable Li-Ion battery, that offers up to 20 hours of gaming, at least casually.

If you do non stop gaming, then you’ll get 10 hours out of it. The SteelSeries controller is designed to turn itself off after 20 minutes of inactivity. The internal battery will easily be charged with the aid of a micro USB cable, that’s bundled with the controller. The really cool thing here is that the Free Mobile Wireless Controller also works on the PC and Mac, not only iOS and Android. SteelSeries also announced a new Flux headset, also compatible with many devices and priced at $99.99. It has 40 mm drivers for high quality sound and isolating mesh cloth ear cups.
