  • Sony has just announced a brand new smartphone app, that’s intended for Android devices and it’s dubbed Xperia Lounge. The app is described by Sony as being a brand new entertainment application, that brings exclusive content and competitions. Those include film, music, gaming and sports.

The good news is that the app is also available on devices that aren’t Xperia units, so anyone with an Android device is welcome to check it out. Of course, there are perks for owning Xperia devices, since some of the content in the app is limited to those lucky owners. VIP content and streaming mobile content can’t be accessed on other Android devices. Other Android users can enjoy competitions and other extra content only if they register via Sony’s services.

If you own an Xperia device, you will be able to stream exclusive live concerts, behind the scenes footage of movies and more. Sony is trying to get celebrities to interact with people via the Xperia streaming platform, too. Finally the contests implemented here offer movie tickets, concert tickets and sporting events tickets. First things first: you get exclusive Coldplay content plus a contest for winning Swedish House Mafia tickets. Sounds cool? The app is up here.
