Snapseed Image Editor Reaches Android, Available for Free
Known as the “Best Mobile Photo App of 2012” (TIPA) and the iPad app of the year 2011, Snapseed is now available for free on Android. The image editing app is available in version 1.4.1, requires Android 4.0 and up and takes up 24 MB of space. Snapseed is a photo app that allows the user to enhance, transform and share pictures with ease thanks to advanced features.
The app has integrated Google+ capabilities and supports a single tap Auto Correct, for those who want a small and fast correction. Snapseed allows users to tweak their photos to perfection using the Tune Image feature, plus use Selective Adjust to enhance certain objects or areas in the photos. Filters like Drama, Vintage and Grunge are included, plus Tilt Shift. Image borders are here and sharing via email is supported as well. The app works just fine on both phones and tablets and even supports TIFF photos.
In other news, before today the app went for $4.99 on iOS and now it goes for… zero dollars. Google acquired the maker of the app, Nik Software, so you may someday see all these features integrated into Android. Snapseed is all about complex photo manipulations with simple gestures, so that’s why Google wanted it. You can download it from here.
