  • Slice Ice is one of those games you must’ve played in your life, either in this form or under another name. It involves cutting pieces of an area, while trying to avoid critters moving around. The title is playable even on older devices, running Android 1.6 and up and it’s available for free.

It takes up 8.2 MB of space and it offers you 165 levels of fun. We tested it on the Huawei Ascend P1 handset and had some fun with penguins, seals and slicing ice. The idea is to get enough ice cut to fill a cocktail glass and in order to do that, you must avoid penguins skating nearby. You must keep all the penguins on a single piece of ice and have to be careful not to touch the critters when slicing. Later on, there will be animals that can be sliced out, like seals.

They keep roaming around the big piece of ice and you have to avoid them, while cutting the big iceberg, piece by piece. You get stars for the achievements, meaning that the less moves you perform to reach the desired quantity of ice, the better your achievement is. The game is fun to play in short doses, but it tends to become boring over time. We give a 7.5 out of 10 and you can download it from here.
