  • Like Viber or Whatsapp, Skype is one of the most popular communications services that is available on most platforms. The app allows you to purchase funds for international calls supporting multiple payment methods and very attractive costs.

It has been announced since last year that Skype will be working with the mobile carriers to support billing through the same network. While for Europe the developers will have to fight hard to work with such a great number of network providers, Skype is mostly known in the US and a large number of costumers support it there. Through carrier billing, the service will not only expand but gain increased popularity depending on the rates it will offer.

Skype now supports carrier billing in Russia, with the US and Canada expected to follow very soon. It is now possible for customers to purchase Skype credit within their mobile devices and through a browser based interface. The transaction will be either as part of the client’s monthly phone bill or through their mobile network’s pre-paid account balance.  For PC’s the browser based interface will be the means for purchasing Skype credit. For the US and Canada the service is expected to be available sometime in march of this year.
