  • Microsoft is working on getting its services up to speed with the design and usability that Windows 8 brings and SkyDrive is also on the list. It may be no DropBox, but this online storage solution has its fans, so its overhaul is welcome and its arrival on Android.

For now we get refreshed desktop apps for Windows and Mac OS X, but the real cherry on top is the Android app. SkyDrive can be used even now on Android phones via their browsers, but a dedicated app would feel like a more customized experience. So, if you want to keep your data in the cloud, there’s now one extra solution to go to. Dropbox is just fine to me, especially with the huge amount of gigabytes you can get now through their special offers.

The interface is also pretty intuitive and nice, even so nice that it was “borrowed” by ASUS WebStorage. SkyDrive has been associated with Windows Phone till now and it did a fine job, especially when it came to storing the pictures you take in an instant. Not sure if they can offer more than 25GB though, while Dropbox has more to offer.
