  • Google Talk is seen by some developers and Android aficionados as one of Google’s “abandoned step children”, apparently. The product has failed to receive major features like file transfers, group chats and some other functions, like sharing via Google Talk. Well, the latter is now available, through a special app.

Developer 360Dev created that app, that you can check out in the video below. It’s called GTalkShare and it has existed for a while now, but it didn’t get as many downloads as it would have deserved. GTalkShare does exactly what the name says: it allows you to share stuff (Content, links and more) to your Google Talk contacts, right from Android’s native sharing function. After opening the app, you’ll be prompted to select which Google account to use.

You need to allow the app to access your Google Talk account, but that’s where the messing around stops. Then you just enter an app like YouTube, find a video you like, select share and tap on GTalkShare. Then you select the contact you’re sending the video/link/item to and you’re all set. You can download the app from here, for free and it takes up less than 1 MB.
