  • The number one option that most Android users look for and install onto their devices is a good File Manager. Without it the different related operations and even installing .apk files would be impossible. Fortunately there are planty of highly appreciated options out there and on top of the list we find Root Explorer.

Root Explorer comes from developer Speed Software and is one of the most highly appreciated and recommended options of its kind. On top of offering all sorts of file operations that are absolutely essential to any user, it also comes with advanced root functions, including for file permissions and more. The latest version has brought a few interface changes, including in Holo style design and multiple tab operations for improved usage.

The best thing about the new version of the app is that it now offers Network (SMB), Google Drive, Box and Dropbox support for file exchange. The notifications menu can now display the current file background processes and there is a new action status with progress display and ability to cancel all long-running operations. Action bar and multi-select action mode support and fully customizable list icons are also included among the changes for the new release available on the Play Store.
