Romanian Racing Review: Original Dacia Racing Title (Video)
In case you didn’t know, Renault is in cahoots with a Romanian company called Dacia, that has been putting out reasonably priced cars for some decades now. Now, the lovers of the good old Dacia, that has been mentioned at Top Gear a few times will get to take the Romanian car for a spin in the title called Romanian Racing, on Android.
We get 4 tracks an 9 cars, including 2 police cars and a Dacia Nova rally version. The title takes up 25 MB, it’s available for free and it’s the indie homemade project of developer Mogos Radu. That’s why we’re not going to be very critical about it. This is a game for nostalgics, who want to tinker with the cars of the 80s and 90s. It’s true that the graphics would fit the 486 era Lotus rather than a modern game, but it’s a good place to start for the developer.
The controls are pretty simple, with tilting involved to steer the car and breaking by tapping the screen. Acceleration is automatic and the races are taken against a certain amount of time. By the way we’re testing the Romanian racing game on a Romanian tablet called Allview Speed City, so you can see at work two products of this East European nation, both relatively mediocre if you ask me. We give the game a 7.5 out of 10 and you can download it from here.
