Robocop Review: Tin Man’s Fun and Repetitive Adventures (Video)
Robocop now has a new movie ready for the cinemas and an associated game for Android is also here. The title is available for free, comes from Glu Mobile and we played it on the Motorola Moto G.
The game is inspired by the movie and even features the characters in the movie. It launched on January 15th and takes you to the Detroit of 2028, playing as Alex Murphy, the cop who has been turned into “tin man”. You’re part of an Omnicorp program, that simulates a bunch of battles, pitting you against big and bad robots, drones and real life baddies.
This is a static cover shooter, much like Epoch, actually very much like Epoch. Between attacks you can scan the enemies, use a sort of bullet time attack or call in a drone for help. You will battle snipers, grenadiers and the occasional boss mobster, who is actually quite easy to defeat. The controls involve tapping and swiping on the screen.
You’ll run from cover to cover and sadly in this game the covers get destroyed, especially the cars. Robocop offers good looking graphics, but it’s a very pricey and hard game, because upgrades cost a lot and they take forever to perform, plus the upgrade tree is gigantic. We give this game a 7 out of 10, because it’s still pretty fun. You can download it from here.
