  • Rdio has been revamping its mobile application for a while now, with the result being the fresh beta app we’re about to detail here. The 2.3 test version implements the hidden sidebar in a more visible way and Rdio officially invites the tech savvy uses to give the beta version a try.

As a beta tester, you’ll instantly notice the fresh look and feel of the software, that now includes a redesigned player, a new sidebar navigation and a new remote control feature. During the beta testing time frame, Rdio accepts feedback and will provide frequent updates. The beta app download replaces your own Rdio app and helps them migrate the synced music. In order to become a beta tester you need to join the Android Google Group and from there you can download and install the app on your device.

Rdio’s app is now able to sync what’s being played on the desktop to mobile and back. The beta introduces a remote control that allows Android devices to be used as remotes or as target for other devices. There’s also a play later queue feature, that appears across devices. No idea when the app arrives on Play Store, but we’ll let you know when it does.
