  • Sony offered some official new details about PlayStation Mobile today and confirmed the support for PSN ID accounts, meaning that if you buy a game on a PlayStation Certified device you will play it on the PS Vita, for example. Reports say that you can also save your save points in the cloud, so you can continue playing on other devices with the same experience.

Titles confirmed for the service include Super Crate Box, Aqua Kitty, Samurai Beatdown, Passing Time, BeatSlider and Flick Hockey. Sony also announced some third party partners, who will release PlayStation Certified devices. For now we have ASUS, HTC and Wikipad promising support on their devices, with HTC’s confirmation of support for the One series already being confirmed weeks ago. So, we have those hot One series handsets, we’ve got the quad core ASUS tablets and gaming tablet Wikipad. What else do we need?

I wonder how long it will be till the Windows Phone and iOS environment get their own PlayStation apps or certification. Imagine a dual core HD display Windows Phone device with a great design. You’d like to play games on that, wouldn’t you? Well, not sure if the whole Xbox thing won’t kill the PlayStation support, but Microsoft could be fair play about this. We’ll see!
