  • You probably know that people in China are already playing Plants vs Zombies 2 on Android devices. Well, it appears PopCap is ready to open the floodgates and let loose the international version of the game, for Android.

I’m pretty sure that by now someone ripped the Chinese version and offered it on torrents, or else I would be surprised. There has already been a soft launch of the game in Australia and New Zealand, to good feedback. iOS got the release this summer and the game was made available for free. PopCap offers in this title 3 universes to explore, including Ancient Egypt, a Pirate World and the Wild West.

You’ll face mummies, pirates and crazy cowboys and use plants like jalapenos, angry back choi and corn that shoots butter and slows down enemies. There’s an interesting piece of mechanics, that involves pirates flying over water or being thrown by cannons. Those will be fought off by some small green plants that throw them in the water. By the way, Plants vs Zombies 2 will be free on Android as well.
