  • If you’re into Pinterest, one of the latest social networking services that wants to take the crown from Facebook, know that you might be able to use it more easily on Android devices soon enough. Apparently, Pinterest for Android is nearing to launch and it may come this week, maybe at Google I/O 2012.

A Google I/O attendee checked out the Sandbox attendees and found Pinterest in there, a good hint to what’s coming. In the description is says “Now available for Android”, although that’s not exactly real, since you can’t download the software yet. However, I can bet that by the end of the week we’ll have the app available. In case you don’t know Pinterest, I should mention it’s a pinboard style social photo sharing service, that’s base on theme-based collections.

Users create collections based on hobbies, interests and events and can browse other pinboards for inspiration. They can also Like photos or re-pin images to their own collections. Know that pins can be shared on both Twitter and Facebook via Pinterest, so you can reach out to more people. Right now it appears that there’s also an iPad app in the works, not only an Android one.
