  • More and more Android smartphone and tablet manufacturers seem to realise the importance of offering a good soluțion in terms of multitasking. In this regard we’ve seen the latest line of devices from providers like Samsung or Sony, offering all sorts of pop-up widgets that can be placed anywhere on the screen.

The main reason for having a widget that can be placed anywhere on the screen in a floating manner, is that having it available everywhere can lead to increased productivity, like having a window open at all times with the PC OS. As the smartphone devices screens get bigger and bigger, people seem to realise the benefits of having one such implementation for when it is required.

Developer Applay has really done a great job in terms of taking the concept of floating widgets to a new level. Overlays is one rather new offer on the Play Store, available in both free and Pro versions. It offers an innovative way of having your favorite widgets with you at all times to either display the information you need or interface with. The interface offers the possibility to place any widget about anywhere on the screen, including own solutions for clock, time and missed calls and/or SMS. It supports transparency setting through alpha channels and different positioning for portrait and landscape orientation. Overall it is a very well designed one of a kind solution you wouldn’t want to miss.
