  • Unlike Sony and its mythical PlayStation 4, Ouya has solid plans regarding its future consoles. They intend to release a new version of the $99 console every year. This is the company behind one of the most successful Kickstarter campaigns ever, that has spawned the Ouya Android gaming console, supported by a lot of people.

Earlier this week it was announced that starting in June the Android-powered console will be sold at major retailers like GameStop, Best Buy, Amazon and Target. Ouya founder and CEO Julie Uhrman revealed in an interview with The Verge this week that the company will release a new Ouya model every year with better specs and performance. The CEO said that if the company could revamp the product for less than $99 they would. Right now, the current Ouya will get launch to Kickstarter backers in March, packing a quad core Tegra 3 1.7 Ghz CPU, 8 GB of storage and 1 GB of RAM.

It will also have a special wireless controller and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as the OS. This tiny little cube can be connected to TV and you play Android games on it, without restrictions and with some exclusive titles and special offers attached to the device.
