  • It appears that the trends of crazy update name continues with Ouya, so after Apple’s felines and Google’s deserts, Ouya decided to focus on creepy creatures. Their latest update for the Android gaming console is called the Abonaminable Snowman.

This new software adds some bugfixes, a totally revamped UI and external storage is now in open beta. All you need to do is plug in an USB drive and get started, with support available for NTFS, FAT32 and ext4 formats. Ouya now has built in functionality that allows the user to update featured games and the wallpaper on the go.

All the game titles will be placed under the tile art, for easier browsing and tiles now have new icons for installed games. If you double tap on the Ouya button now you’ll bring up a System Menu and not exit the game instantly. The system menu allows you to exit games, eject a USB drive, turn off controllers or put the device in a sleep mode, much like the PS button on the PlayStation controller.

Ouya also gets bug fixes, like those that didn’t allow users to access the Internet or lack of auto scrolling and such. Just a quick reminder: the Ouya is priced at only $99 now.
