  • NBA Jam is a nifty basketball title on Android, that has just suffered a price reduction, bringing it down $2 from the usual price. The title now goes for about $3 and courtesy of EA you get some arcade action with 2 on 2 player matches, 30 NBA teams available and the full modern roster of players.

The title includes a Play Now mode, that allows you to compete against a computer opponent, plus the classic Campaign where you take on 36 teams. Multiplayer over Bluetooth for two people is also included, for those who are wondering. To make matters clear, this is a 2 versus 2 arcade basketball title, not a simulator of a full team match. Everything you liked from the console version of the NBA Jam is here, including the classic announcers.

The cool thing is that there’s no foul here, no free throw and no strict rules, aside from the 24 second shot clock. For $4.99 the game was well worth it and for $3 it’s even more of a bargain. The on screen controls are responsive and you get different actions as you slide your fingers to each control. You can use buttons for Pass, Turbo and Dunk and you can also Block in the defense, do an Alley Oop and Shoot. If you double tap Turbo you will even throw elbows, which is pretty cool.

    The game is available here.
