  • With the Olympics out there, one may feel the need to try to play some sports inspired by the London events. An idea would be playing tennis, so that’s why the Cross Court Tennis title may interest you, especially now that it’s cheaper thanks to a discount that takes it down to 99 cents. This is a 50% price reduction for the app made by Refined Games Inc.

The title was upgraded on June 25th 2012 and it requires Android 2.1 and up, plus it takes up 17MB of space, so it guarantees 3D graphics being a better game than the usual wannabe tennis simulators. You get modes like Instant Play and 3 levels of difficulty, plus a Career Mode and the ability to upgrade skills through mini training. 35 different opponents are ready to compete against you, with varied skills. Career matches and tournaments can be saved, as far as progress goes.

Pro level players will have a replay challenge system available and there are 8 tournaments you can access and reveal your top notch serve and backhand. 3 court surfaces and subtle physics like bounce adjustments are included in the game. Lobs, slices, topspin, flat and drop volleys are easily triggered through intuitive controls. The game runs at 60 FPS smoothly and it’s available here.
