  • U.K.’s BBC has been offering apps for the mobile platform on supported regions since a long time ago. The iPlayer is well known for coming pre-installed on several feature phones, including models from Sony-Ericsson and Samsung that were offered a while back.

BBC’s app has been available for a while on the iOS platform. The developers responded to the users requests for launching an Android alternative and said it would be available in the shortest time. However it actually took a while and only today has the app been finally released on the Play Store.

BBC iPlayer Radio supports a carefully designed interface. It is able to provide it functions over WiFi and data connections and offers a full program guide. You can browse programmes by Schedule, Category, Featured and Most Popular, plus listen in the background or in standby, with quick access to what’s playing via the notifications panel. It is available for free starting today.
