  • It’s nice to see that the Holo UI is becoming the inspiration behind Android apps and interfaces are being borrowed from main Google stock apps. XDA Forum Member Jack Underwood has created the Now Playing Beta, a music app that’s inspired by the design philosophy of Google Now.

Now Playing is in beta phase and it’s a well designed and polished music player for Android, that combines an intuitive and minimal interface with an elegant look adopted by Google Now. App users will navigate through different categories of the music library with horizontally sliding screens displaying albums, artists and songs.

The “Now Playing” screen includes 3 sliding screens: album art, currently playing playlist and lyrics. Each screen has a bar at the bottom, with a standard play/pause, previous and next, shuffle and repeat buttons. Now Playing also comes with widgets and equalizer support, if your device supports that. You have to access this area to download the app for free.
