Nokia X Asphalt 8 Demo: Surprisingly, It Works and Audio is Great (Video)
We had the chance to pull off some tests on the Nokia X, including a gaming test or two involving the Asphalt 8 title and Riptide GP2. Surprisingly, Asphalt 8 works on this device, although it has some trouble running on the ultra hardcore tablet Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2.
Anyway, the Nokia X is a $120 handset, that gets its latest Asphalt fix from the Nokia Store, since it doesn’t have a Play Store. The phone only has 512 MB of RAM to offer, plus 4 GB of storage (of which you get only a little over 1 GB to use)], so you totally need a microSD card. Nokia X relies on a dual core Snapdragon S4 Play processor and it may enter the game with some lag, but in the UI and gameplay there’s no lag whatsoever.
The graphics look decent and the audio is on par with basically every device out there. The title is certainly playable and it’s very fun to pull a nitrous, fly from ramps and roll over in mid air. There’s a slight overheating, but not very bad, so overall yes, the Asphalt 8 title works on Nokia X!
