  • Launched in late 2014 on Google Play, Nokia HERE has been updated today on both Windows Phone and Android devices. iOS continues to remain without this excellent free turn by turn navigation solution.

The update brings improvements to turn by turn navigation and expanded coverage, especially in regions of Africa. Expanded in depth information about public transportation is available and the updated version of the app brings improved “water features”. This basically means, that rivers, lakes, inland ponds of all sorts are now better represented on the map.

General improvements and enhancements are also mentioned. Transit lines are more realistically interpreted for users and the representation of rivers is better. Cyprus, Mayotte and Zimbabwe have had their maps upgraded to “navigable status”. Users on Android will get a notification when it’s time to update and they just have to tap it to open the HERE app.

Then the update button at the bottom of the screen needs to pressed when the app is open. You can get the app here.
