Nexus 5 Prototype Gets Caught on Camera in Hands on Experience (Video)

  • After so many leaks of hands on pics with the Nexus 5, it’s time to check out a hands on video of the new device. It’s shown below and it looks quite hot and strangely it seems to borrow a bunch of design cues from the Nexus 7 2013.


    Those include a soft touch matte back and the design of the speakers at the bottom. In this case there’s no Nexus branding at the back, although previous leaks had it. The video shows October 9th as a date on the lockscreen, so it’s an older release. There are still things missing from the software build included here, such as the camera shortcut on the lockscreen, the notification bar transparency in the launcher, the new dialer, Search app icons and Google Photos.

    All of those were spotted in previously leaked screenshots. The build mentions KeyLimePie as the name, so it’s once again an older software, before Google spoke to Nestle about the rebranding to KitKat. In the video we also see the app drawer, settings, storage, live wallpapers, Chrome, YouTube, the camera, calendar, Keep, Google Earth and Play Store:
