  • Robot Invader is the developer that gave us the brilliant game Wind-Up Knight and now they’re at it again, this time with a title called Rise of the Blobs. This is a clever puzzle game that’s shown in the trailer below and it reminds me of Domino with a bit of tetris in it and some pretty 3D graphics.

This Tetris relative uses food instead of tiles or squares. You need to stop the blobs as they try to consume the marshmallow hero, who’s stuck on top of a tower, that’s being climbed on by blobs. Said blobs must be taken care of. You do that by rotating the tower from side to side and dropping fruit to match the color of the blobs and then pop them. The goal here is to stay alive as long as possible and complete your objectives.

The gameplay gets very fast at some point, so it’s pretty hard to keep up at times. You will unlock powerups and new game modes as you play on and there are also in app purchases to make your life easier and give you upgrades. The game is available for free and it takes up 35 MB of storage. You can connect with friends via Facebook and compete in various Rise of the Blobs sessions. The title is up for download here.
