  • What’s $2.99 and will always be a classic? The famous Rayman of course, that ever since Raving Rabbits has been derailed from its platforming origins. Speaking of which, Rayman Origins now gets an unusual follow-up, one that landed this week on Android and iOS and it’s called Rayman Jungle Run.

The game comes from Ubisoft Entertainment, obviously and it goes for $2.99. It requires Android 2.3.3 and up and takes up just 77 MB of space, at least initially. The famous limbless character is now part of an “auto running” game that will provide some fast paced gameplay in the vein of Sonic. You have to get as many Lums as possible and there are 100 of them in each level. Getting all of them earns you a Skull tooth. If you get 5 teeth from the ten levels in each chapter you will get reward with a door to the Land of the Dead.

There you will race against the clock and dodge spike vines and tons of traps and malformed environments. Rayman starts all levels simply by running on the spot and all you have to do is make him jump, as he dashes through all the challenges. Many of Lums are placed to guide your slides and dashes, so you have to follow their track. The idea is to test your reaction times and memory and you’ll get to love this gameplay after a while. The game is up for download here.
